Yesterday we told you about the flat quarter Emmis reported for March, April and May. Company executives gave a little more detail Wednesday in a conference call to investors and said in the markets Emmis operates national business was down 15% which could be an indicator for other, bigger radio companies being that Emmis does own stations in New York and L.A. While Emmis showed a small increase in local revenue (15), overall local was down in all Emmis markets (6%). Emmis saw a healthy increase in NTR revenue (17%) and digital was also up slightly (5%). In Q2 Emmis revenue is pacing down in the low ingle digits.
On a pro forma basis, for the months of March, April, and May, Emmis reported flat revenue. The pro-forma report includes WBLS and WLIB in New York City, as if they were owned by Emmis for those same three months in 2013. Emmis started operating the stations in an LMA on March 1. Emmis also reports local revenue in the markets it operates (New York, Indianapolis, Los Angeles, Austin, St. Louis, Terre Haute) was down 5.5 percent during March, April, and May, according to Miller Kaplan, while Emmis stations were up 1.6 percent.
