Remember when former Miami sports talker Dan Sileo (now working in San Diego) got in trouble for targeting Erin Andrews on Twitter? She was the subject of some not-so-flattering chatter again yesterday, this time from Kirk Minihane on WEEI Boston's Dennis and Callahan show. During the All-Star Game there was a controversy as to whether pitcher Adam Wainwright threw a meatball to Derek Jeter, who hit a double. The Fox TV reporter interviewed Wainwright about the pitch and Minihane didn't like her line of questioning. He said she was a gutless b*&^$, he hated her, and she should drop dead. Listen to his rant HERE
If you were managing this station, what would you do?

The "drop dead" line and calling her a b!tch certainly deserve a reprimand, but while "gutless" may be an inaccurate assessment (I think she's simply incompetent), it's Minihane's opinion and he's free to share it. He's certainly not the first person to question Andrews' lines of questioning, and he definitely won't be the last. She just has no clue what she's doing as a sideline reporter. There's no reason not to point that out.

Erin has a microphone too. They both can give their opinion. It's an opinion. Listeners have phones, they can call and go on the air and express their opinions

Actually this is a silly question. Let it roll. What would you be worried about? It makes great radio.
