When iHeartMedia Fort Myers Florida Market Manager Sherri Griswold first saw a singer-songwriter festival in Key West, where she was working at the time, she thought that's something that could be done in other markets as well. Working with BMI's Dan Spears (pictured left with Sugarland?s Kristian Bush, Griswold and Holladay Broadcasting President Bob Holladay). Griswold created The Island Hopper Singer-Songwriter Festival on Captiva Island which spanned two weekends and turned out to be wildly successful. BMI helped bring in the artists and there were dozens of free shows where listeners had a unique opportunity to experience the voices, back stories, and personalities of the artists in intimate island settings. Artists who made the journey to Captiva included Kristian Bush of Sugarland and Thompson Square. Read more about the event HERE
