Little Jimmy Dickens Dies At 94

Little Jimmy Dickens worked at WIBW in Topeka and stations in Indianapolis, Cincinnati, and Saginaw. Dickens died Friday of cardiac arrest after having a stroke on Christmas Day, a day after his 94th birthday. One of his first jobs was at a station in West Virginia where he had to crow like a rooster to begin the station?s broadcast for the day. Dickens was also the oldest cast member of the Grand Ole Opry. A public visitation is being held Wednesday in Nashville and a celebration of life service is being held Thursday at the Grand Ole Opry House.
