Classical Voice Of Gary Hollis Silenced

7-3-14

Veteran announcer for Classical KMZT (K-Mozart) in Los Angeles Gary Hollis has died of cancer. Hollis worked for the station for over 25 years. He had a warm voice, engaging presence, and encyclopedic knowledge of classical music. Saul Levine hired him as a part-time weekend announcer on K-Mozart. Levine eventually moved Hollis to full-time host. Levine said, ?When Gary was hired as a part-time announcer 25 years ago, I had no idea that we had engaged one of the most creative and dynamic air persons in our long history in radio. Gary was always upbeat, cheerful, and happy to be on the air presenting the music he loved.?

Gary will be missed by so many people at First Christian Church of North Holllywood. We presently live in San Diego but will always remember our time with Gary at the Advent....oh dear Kelly, we are so sorry for your loss .
