This latest ruling by the Commission has to do with the station Connoisseur sold to Pandora (KXMZ) in South Dakota for $600,000, and ASCAP's attempt to get the Commission to deny the license. The sale finally received approval from the Commission back in May (it was announced in June of 2013). The hang-up was from Pandora's inability to prove its foreign ownership percentage. The Commission eventually decided to approve the sale stating the public interest would be served. ASCAP sees the sale as a way for Pandora to be considered a radio company and receive the same licensing rate as radio. READ ON.
