Saga Names Goldstein Replacement

On Thursday, Saga Communications announced that Bob Lawrence would be joining the company as the new Vice President and Group Program Director. Lawrence replaces Steve Goldstein, who exited at the end of March to launch his own digital audio company. Lawrence most recently served as President and CEO of San Diego-based radio research/branding firm Pinnacle Media Worldwide.
Saga CEO Ed Christian said, "We had excellent candidates express interest in the position of Vice President and Group Program Director for Saga. We have worked with Bob Lawrence and Pinnacle for years and have always been impressed with his radio knowledge, analysis, and solutions to problems. He already understands the Saga culture and this will be a seamless transition for him and us. I welcome Bob as a member of our team."

Univision Unveils Piolin Replacement

Univision Radio has launched ?El Bueno, La Mala, y El Feo,? (The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly), a music- intensive regional Mexican radio show, as the replacement for the Eddie Piolin program. Piolin and Univision parted company back in July, and since then former members of his show have filed a lawsuit against him. Piolin is now at SiriusXM. The new show, hosted by Raul Molinar ?El Bueno,? Sylvia del Valle ?La Mala,? and Andres Maldonado ?El Feo.?

Based in Los Angeles, ?El Bueno, La Mala, y El Feo? premiered today in Los Angeles, KSCA 101.9 from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. PST; Houston, KLTN 102.9 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. CST; San Antonio, KROM 92.9 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. CST; El Paso, KBNA 97.5 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. CST; and Mc Allen, KGBT 98.5 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. CST. The show will soon expand to Chicago, Dallas, San Francisco, San Diego, Phoenix, Fresno, Las Vegas, Austin, and Albuquerque.

Raul Molinar ?El Bueno,? was most recently at Univision Radio?s KLNO in Dallas. Sylvia del Valle ?La Mala,? was the on-air personality known as ?La Bronca? on ?La N?mero Uno? radio station in Los Angeles. Andres ?El Feo? Maldonado, was at KSCA in L.A.

The TRN Michael Savage Replacement Is Jerry Doyle

Doyle's show began airing Monday night 6 p.m.-9 p.m. Eastern. Cox Names Bill Hoffman as Bob Neil's Replacement

Cox Media Group (CMG) has named Bill Hoffman, who was previously vice president and general manager of the company?s WSB-TV Channel 2 in Atlanta, as its new executive vice president. Hoffman will oversee "various radio, television and newspaper operations across CMG." Hoffman will be succeeded at WSB-TV by Tim McVay, vice president and general manager at the company?s KTVU-TV in Oakland, Calif.

?Bill is a broadcast industry veteran, whose proven leadership abilities will help CMG continue to perform at the top of its game,? said Doug Franklin, CMG president. ?He is well respected in many industry circles, and I?m delighted that we can tap into his talents to drive our future success.?
Hoffman joined Cox in 1979 as an account representative at TeleRep and has held a number of roles within the company. Those include vice president and general manager of WFTV in Orlando, local sales manager at WSB-TV, office manager at Atlanta?s TeleRep office and national sales manager at WPXI-TV in Pittsburgh. He also served as local and national sales manager of WCCO-TV in Minneapolis, Minn.
