WFAN-FM Takes Marconi For Legendary Station

9-11-14

The winners of the 2014 NAB Marconi Radio Awards were announced Thursday night at a gala dinner and show celebrating the winners and the awards' 25th anniversary. The coveted honor for Legendary Station went to WFAN-FM/New York, while Premiere's Rush Limbaugh was named Network/Syndicated Personality of the Year. Bob & Tom (Bob Kevoian and Tom Griswold, pictured at left) helped host the show, while country artist Hunter Hayes (pictured at right) provided the entertainment.

Marconi finalists were selected by a task force of broadcasters, and the winners were voted on by the NAB Marconi Radio Awards Selection Academy. The votes were tabulated by an independent firm.

Rush is frankly one of the most deserving winners of this award. He has done more for the comeback of AM Radio and the resurgence of talk and issues related programming. His message is independent of the progressive left which has spent their time in playing politically correct games and nearly void of historical vision and traditional American values. Many have been encouraged to follow in his steps who also demonstrate the value of independent reasoning. A true American treasure!

The Rush Limbaugh award is pathetic.

While I never cared for Limbaugh, I recognize that in the nineties, his radio show was huge, and was a game changer for stations that carried him. During that time period, he earned recognition -- just as did the equally noxious Howard Stern.

But today? Rush is fading caricature of himself, spouting ever more outrageous nonsense in an attempt to avoid complete irrelevancy. An award for him today is like giving Aerosmith an award for best rock band.

Rush Limbaugh? That piece of crap? The Marconi awards have just been defiled.

That Rush won this award is just sad. The award is named after a Nobel Prize winner and now it goes to such an idiot who is not qualified for anything, just has a big mouth.
