Since Cox (102.5 The Bone) parted with Bubba The Love Sponge in Tampa, in August of 2014, there's been speculation about which company would pick him up in that city. It came down to Beasley and iHeartMedia, according to several people with details about the negotiations. Radio Ink has learned that this morning Bubba will hold a press conference, live on the air in Tampa, and that will take place on WHFS-FM (98.7) which is a Beasley station the company picked up late last year in a swap with CBS Radio. A new format is being launched by Beasley on WHFS. It had most recently been a sports station when CBS owned it.
