Radio Ink has learned that this morning Bubba will hold a press conference, live on the air in Tampa, and that will take place on WHFS-FM (98.7) which is a Beasley station the company picked up late last year in a swap with CBS Radio. A new format is being launched by Beasley on WHFS. It had most recently been a sports station when CBS owned it.

Beasley Q3 Down 5%

10-24-14

Wilmington and Greenville-New Bern-Jacksonville are the markets that dragged down Beasley in the third quarter. Those two markets offset revenue increase in las Vegas and Fort Myers and caused the company to fall $700,000 short of the same revenue figure it generated in the third quarter of 2013. CEO George Beasley said, "We don?t believe third quarter operating results from continuing operations reflect the strength, ratings and local relevance of our platform, as the lower level of reported net revenue from continuing operations is temporarily mis-matched with certain expenses that will be better amortized across the Company?s larger revenue base once we complete the asset exchange with CBS Radio."On October 1, Beasley agreed to swap five stations in Miami and Philadelphia for 14 CBS stations in Tampa, Charlotte and Philadelphia.

Beasley Broadcasting, which owns 44 stations in 11 large-and mid-size markets generated $1.0 million less in the second quarter of 2014 than it did in 2013. Political To Blame For Beasley Q4 Drop

1-30-14

In 2012, Beasley took in $1.2 million in Q4 political revenue and that couldn't be made up amongst the 44 stations the company owns. CEO George Beasley said, ?While we were not able to fully offset the cyclical impact of political revenue, the fourth quarter radio advertising environment in our markets remains healthy and on an actual basis we reported just a slight decline in net revenue compared with last year." Excluding political, Beasley Q4 same-station revenue was up 2 percent. For the year, same-station revenue was up nearly 2 percent.

Beasley Q3 Same Station Revenue up 2.7%

10-25-13

Chairman and CEO George Beasley said, ?Excluding the benefit of political advertising in the year-ago quarter, same station net revenue rose approximately 4.4%. The third quarter revenue increase reflects growth in local and digital revenue, strength in our largest market clusters in Philadelphia and Miami, and continued growth in Augusta. Beasley says for its five markets that report to Miller Kaplan ? 76% of its third quarter revenue ? those clusters grew revenue by 6.8% while the total revenue for all reporting radio stations in these markets declined by 1.4% for the quarter.

Beasley went on to say, ?In addition to our focus on core programming and expanding our on-air and digital advertising platforms, we continue to strengthen our balance sheet. Reflecting solid cash flows from operations, we made repayments totaling $2.0 million against the credit facility during the third quarter, reducing borrowings to $110.2 million at September 30, 2013 from $119 million at the end of last year?s third quarter. Our debt and leverage reduction initiatives over the last few years are delivering strong benefits to our income statement as third quarter interest expense declined year-over-year by over 25% or approximately $0.5 million while our leverage ratio is now at its lowest level in over 10 years. We intend to continue using cash from operations to further lower debt as well as pursue other initiatives that can enhance shareholder value.

Beasley Names Stacey Sedbrook VP Of Digital

8-8-13
Sedbrook moves to Beasley HQ in Naples from Boston where she was Senior Director of Digital Sales and Operations for Wicked Local-Gatehouse Media. She's also worked as Gannett's VP of Local Digital, The Dallas Morning News? Director of Sales Training, The Houston Chronicle?s Director of Online Sales, Marketing and Product Development, and the Denver Newspaper Agency?s Director of New Media. She also started her own consulting business.

Sedbrook said, ?Radio is an industry that I?ve been watching closely. To join a company like Beasley, one that understands that digital and radio are converging at a faster pace than ever before, is a tremendous opportunity. My past experience and accomplishments will translate well into radio. I very much look forward to leveraging the strength of radio?s reach and listener response to introduce the audience extension, personalization, and trackability of digital products and services. After living through Hurricane Sandy in 2012 and the Boston Blizzard of 2013, I'm excited to be leaving New England for the year-round sunshine in SW Florida."

Beasley Executive VP and CFO Caroline Beasley said, ?As our digital initiatives continue to grow and evolve, we realize the benefit in examining this critically important part of our business with fresh eyes and from a different perspective. Stacey?s record of driving the development of innovative, revenue-generating marketing and sales campaigns for both agencies and clients is exceptional. We believe the skillset she brings to Beasley?s digital team will help build a stronger department that is better tailored to serve the needs of our advertisers and listeners. Radio may be a new industry to Stacey, but the challenges we face as our digital presence expands are the same issues she faced previously on the print side.?

Beasley Q2 Net Revenue Rises 3.4%

4-25-13

In a trend reversal of sorts, Beasley reported strong national revenue and weaker local revenue when it called in its 1st quarter revenue results Friday. Recent results from public companies had national down with local doing much better. On a same-station basis, Beasley revenue increased 3.4 percent in the quarter. CFO Caroline Beasley said the increase was due to strong performances by company clusters in Philadelphia, Las Vegas, and Fort Myers/Naples. Despite a 152 percent increase in digital and a 25 percent increase in national, Miami was unable to overcome a 7 percent decline in local and wound up down for the quarter by 2 percent. Overall, Beasley took in $24.8 million in Q1.
