Mary Ellen Murphy is in as the morning news anchor and co-host for 1450 WHTC in Holland, Michigan. Murphy brings 30 plus years of experience to the table and has been behind the mic in: Seattle, Sacramento and Detroit, Grand Rapids and Muskegon.
Brand Manager Dan Spadafora has been handling morning duties at WHTC, and you've got to love this, we quote Spadafora citing his, "'youthful inexperience' and a genuine dislike of getting up in the middle of the night to go to work as among the reasons to bring in a seasoned broadcaster to round out WHTC?s Morning News. Spadafora added he hopes the hire of Murphy means he will be able to call in sick more often so he can keep sleeping."
Spadafora, on a more serious note, says concerning Murphy's hire, "She's an absolute pro. Mary Ellen has experience and passion that is going to push WHTC to a place it has never been to before. I'm still a little shocked no one grabbed her before we did, but I'm glad she landed in Holland. I think listeners are going to find a true personal connection listening to Mary Ellen every morning."
Radio Ink believes Dan Spadafora and WHTC should win the press release of the year award.
