Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma is selling KPLU, to the University of Washington's KUOW, for $8 million. Both are National Public Radio member stations. Under the pending agreement, according to The Puget Sound Business Journal, KPLU will be folded into KUOW, which will then operate two stations: one for NPR and Northwest news at 94.9 FM, and one for jazz music at 88.5 FM, operating under a "larger unified radio, streaming and online destination."
