Jeff Ward has been working at KLBJ since 1997. Late last week Ward was stopped for speeding. He was given a field sobriety test and failed. He says he was not intoxicated and he's confident the charges will be dismissed. The station is reviewing the incident. Ward took over the afternoon drive-time show at KLBJ in 1997. Since then, the show's ratings have gone from 16th in the Austin market, to consistently being one of the three highest rated shows among all formats with his show often winning the coveted afternoon slot. KLBJ is an all news station in Austin owned by Emmis.
