One of the Irene predictions had Irene wreaking a lot of havoc and destruction on the southern end of Long Island. Cox Radio was prepared well in advance telling Radio Ink it would have its A Team ready to roll when the storm hit. WBLI-FM was one of the stations ready to shift into hurricane mode utilizing meterologist Rich Hoffman from the local TV station as long as he was needed. Cox also participated in a little social networking, the old fashioned way, taking calls from listeners as the storm passed through with a little bit more of a whimper than expected.
