U.S. auto sales exceeded analysts expectations in November jumping 15%. 1.14 million automobiles were sold in November raising expectations that 2012 would end up over 10% for the third year in a row. In November, both The BMW Group and American Honda were up 39%. Dodge was up 32%. VW rose 29%, the 15th consecutive month of gains of 22 percent or more. Toyota reported a 17% increase.

So is this more propped government purchases of vehicles? Or is it actual purchases made by consumers. Could we actually get a break down of who made the purchases or is this just more happy feeley good reporting?
