John Geary to Resign After 45 Years

12-10-2012

Geary has been the VP/Market Manager for Entercom in Sacramento since 1986. "In November of 1967, I collected my first paycheck from the radio industry," he says. "It was for $32.47. To a sophomore in college, that bought a lot of pizza and beer. It also marked the beginning of a career path which has brought me to people, places, and events that have enriched my life. Now, after 45 years, this is an appropriate time to conclude that journey. I have treasured my years with Entercom."

Entercom Regional President Deborah Kane announced that a nationwide search for Geary's replacement will begin immediately. "I have a deep gratitude and a tremendous sense of honor for the work and leadership of John Geary over the years," she says. "We have very big shoes to fill in Sacramento with John leaving." Geary will stay on in his position until a replacement is hired. Geary adds, "I leave knowing this organization is in better shape than what I inherited. Our stations' ratings are formidable, market-leading revenue-rank positions are a reality, and talented people, each making their individual contributions to our collective success, populate every department in the building."

Candidates interested in the Entercom Sacramento VP/market manager position should contact Noreen McCormack, VP of human resources, at nmccormack@entercom.com.
