Nielsen LogoPPM Data – Round One. Information for the August 2016 ratings period has been released for New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, San Francisco, Dallas, Houston, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Nassau-Suffolk (Long Island), Riverside, San Jose, and Middlesex-Somerset-Union. Nielsen Audio's August 2016 survey period covered July 14 – August 10. RadioInfo managing editor Mike Kinosian (Kinosian@RadioInfo.com) provides his "Takeaways" from these 12-PPM markets.
TWELVE TAKEAWAYS
1) New York – Climbing from seventh to sixth, WKTU "103.5 The Beat of New York" registers its fourth straight increase (3.3 – 3.5 – 4.1 – 4.4 – 4.7, 6+) and is a WKTUcombined +1.4 in that stretch. Moreover, this is the finest 6+-showing for the iHeartMedia rhythmic CHR in nearly four years (4.7, September 2012). It proves to be a short stay at #1 for CBS Radio classic hits-oldies WCBS-FM, which surrenders seven-tenths of the eight-tenths it gained in July (5.4 – 6.2 – 5.5, 6+) and slips to the runner-up slot. The 6.2 this time last month was its best 6+-performance since November (2015) whenWLTW Logo January 2015 it reached 6.4. Returning to first-place is iHeartMedia adult contemporary WLTW "Lite-FM," which – before falling to #2 in July – had been on top the previous four ratings periods. In addition, "Lite-FM" notches a one-tenth gain to 6.1 (6+), thus curtailing four successive sweeps without an increase for a cumulative loss of seven-tenths (6.7 – 6.5 – 6.4 – 6.4 – 6.0, 6+); 6.0 in July was its lowest 6+-share since November 2014 (5.6). A decrease of six-tenths (3.5 – 2.9, 6+) drops Univision Radio Spanish tropical WXNY "X-96.3" out of the top ten (#10 to #13). This marks the weakest 6+-share for "X-96.3" since October's 2.3. In the market's hot AC contest, CBS Radio's WNEW-FM "Fresh 102.7" (formerly WWFS) – which registered a 2.9 (6+) in four of the last sweeps – picks up two-tenths to 3.1 (#11, 6+), while Cumulus Media's WPLJ sputters by one-half share (2.9 – 2.4, #16, 6+); the two rivals were tied at #13 in July. This is the 20th successive sweep that WPLJ has recorded a 6+-share between 2.0 – 2.9 (6+). Following five straight monthlies without a decrease for a combined +.8 (4.7 – 5.3 – 5.4 – 5.4 – 5.5 – 5.5, 6+), iHeartMedia CHR WHTZ "Z-100" is off by two-tenths to 5.3 (6+), yet actually inches up from fourth to a third-place tie. Also coming to an end (at four) is the consecutive string of up or flat trends for Cumulus Media country outlet WNSH, which dips by one tenth to 2.0 but remains at #18 (6+); "Nash-FM" had trended 1.8 – 1.9 – 2.0 – 2.1 – 2.1, 6+. Four talk outlets are clumped together, beginning with iHeartMedia's WOR and public WNYC-FM (both 1.8 – 2.0, tied with WNSH at #18, 6+), followed by Cumulus Media's WABC (#21, 6+) and Townsquare Media's WKXW "New Jersey 101.5" (flat at 1.3, #22, 6+). This is the fifth straight time WABC has not managed an increase (1.8 – 1.7 – 1.5 – 1.4 – 1.4 – 1.4, 6+).
2) Los Angeles – Stymied at 3.1 (6+) the past three ratings periods, iHeartMedia urban contemporary KRRL breaks out a KRRLgain of three-tenths to 3.4 (6+), as "Real 92.3" cracks the top ten (#11 to #8). Not only does co-owned KOST "Coast 103.5" record back-to-back increases for a combined gain of one-half share (5.3 – 5.4 – 5.8, 6+), the adult contemporary property is #1 for the tenth successive sweep. Conversely, CBS Radio CHR KAMP "Amp Radio," whichKOST had been up the past two ratings periods for a cumulative +.7 (3.1 – 3.5 – 3.8, 6+) forfeits the entire seven-tenths (back to 3.1, 6+) and spirals out of the top ten (#7 to #12). Its format foe – iHeartMedia-owned KIIS "Kiss-FM" (4.6, 6+) drops from second to fourth and ends its five-month trend of 5.1 – 5.1 – 4.9 – 5.1 – 4.9 (6+). On the heels of racking up a one-half share increase, Univision Radio regional Mexican KSCA "Zona MX 101.9" adds four-tenths and is up for the third straight time (2.2 – 2.4 – 2.9 – 3.3, 6+) as it enters the top ten (#12 to #10). Even though KPWR "Power 106" is without a decrease for the fourth straight time (2.6 – 2.6 – 2.8 – 2.9 – 3.0, 6+), the Emmis rhythmic CHR actually backslides from a three-way tie at #12 to #13; "Power 106" had been in the 2.6 – 2.9 range the past 12 survey periods. Dropping from a three-way tie at #17 to #19, CBS Radio alternative KROQ is down or flat for the fourth successive sweep (3.1 – 2.9 – 2.9 – 2.4 – 2.3, 6+). Meanwhile, iHeartMedia's similarly programmed KYSR-FM "Alt 98.7" duplicates July's +.2 (3.0 – 3.2 – 3.4, 6+) as it climbs from ninth to eighth. Unchanged at #15 (6+), this is the fifth consecutive time that co-owned talker KFI is without an increase (3.5 – 3.2 – 3.0 – 2.9 – 2.7 – 2.7, 6+) and it is the seventh successive down or flat trend for Salem Media Group contemporary Christian KFSH "The Fish" (.9 -.8 -.8 -.7 – .7 – .6 -.5 – .5, #38, 6+).
3) Chicago – Having posted a 4.9 (6+) in March, May, and July Hubbard Broadcasting's WTMX "101.9 The Mix" erupts with a WTMX+.6 to 5.5 (6+) – matching what it did in February – as the hot AC finishes in third-place for the sixth straight time. Its format rival, iHeartMedia-owned WLIT (three-way tie at #8 to #9, 6+), is without an increase for the seventh successive month, (13.9 – 4.7 – 4.5 – 4.0 – 3.9 – 3.9 – 3.7 – 3.6 – 3.5, 6+); "My-FM" is -10.4 (or roughly -75%) in that stretch. Conversely, this isWEBG the eighth straight ratings period that sibling WEBG "Big 95.5 Chicago's New Country" is either up or flat for a combined +.8 (1.7 – 1.8 – 1.8 – 1.8 – 1.8 – 2.0 – 2.3 – 2.4 – 2.5, 6+); "Big" advances from #18 to #16. Four-tenths ahead of it is its format foe – CBS Radio's WUSN "US-99.5" (3.0 – 2.9, -.1, unchanged at #12). Locked on 5.8 (6+) in June and July, all-news cluster-mate WBBM-AM picks up three-tenths to 6.1 (6+), repeating at #1. The +.3 curtails five straight losses that resulted in a combined -1.1 (6.9 – 6.6 – 6.5 – 6.4 – 5.8 – 5.8, 6+). Before slipping to #2 in June, WBBM-AM had been on top from January through May. Down or flat the past three sweeps (6.1 – 6.1 – 6.1 – 5.6, 6+), iHeartMedia urban AC WVAZ "V-103" records a +.4 to 6.0 (6+) and remains at #2. Off for the third straight time (2.8 – 2.6 – 2.5 – 2.4, 6+), Hubbard Broadcasting adult contemporary WSHE (#16 to #17) is nonetheless within 2.0 – 2.9 range (6+) for the 28th straight monthly. This marks the seventh consecutive ratings period CBS Radio classic hits-oldies WJMK "K-Hits 104.3" (#13 to #14) is either down or flat for a cumulative -.7 (3.3 – 3.2 – 3.2 – 3.2 – 3.1 – 2.9 – 2.8 – 2.6, 6+). Similarly formatted, Cumulus Media-owned WLS-FM "94.7 Chicago's Classic Hits" leads "K-Hits" by four tenths (3.2 – 3.0, -.2, 6+) and is steady at #11. After getting off to a hot start in the baseball season, Chicago Cubs flagship/CBS Radio sports outlet WSCR "The Score" has its third consecutive (modest) decline (4.2 – 4.1 – 4.0 – 3.7, 6+), but falls from fifth to seventh. This is the sixth successive ratings period in which Spanish Broadcasting System regional Mexican WLEY "La Ley 107.9" (#26) posts a loss (2.2 – 1.9 – 1.7 – 1.6 – 1.5 – 1.4 – 1.3, 6+).
4) San Francisco – A gain of one-half share enables KISQ "98.1 – The Breeze Relaxing Favorites at Work" to reach the four-share KISQ The Breezelevel (3.5 – 4.0, 6+). In addition, the iHeartMedia adult contemporary facility rockets from eighth to fourth. Suffering -.5 erosions are the flagships of the Bay Area's two MLB franchises. In fact, it is actually back-to-back decreases of one-half share for Cumulus Media-owned/San Francisco Giants key station KNBR, as well as its third consecutive decline for a cumulative -1.1 (6.8 – 6.7 – 6.2 – 5.7,KMVQ 6+). Nonetheless, "The Sports Leader" stays on top for the fifth straight time. Meanwhile, Oakland A's flagship – Entercom's KGMZ "95.7 The Game" (#26) has its fourth consecutive sweep without an increase (1.7 – 1.7 – 1.7 – 1.6 – 1.1, 6+). By dropping one-tenth (6+), two streaks end for KIOI "Star 101.3." The iHeartMedia-owned hot AC had logged a 3.9 (6+) in each of the past four sweeps, but is now at 3.8 and flat at #5. In addition, "Star" had racked up five successive sweeps without noting a decrease (3.8 – 3.8 – 3.9 – 3.9 – 3.9 – 3.9, 6+), although its net gain in that period was just one-tenth. For the sixth straight ratings period, urban contemporary cluster-mate KMEL "#1 for Hip-Hop & R&B" is either down or flat (4.0 – 3.7 – 3.7 – 3.7 – 3.4 – 3.4 – 3.3, 6+) but continues at #10. Dropping from second to third, CBS Radio all-news KCBS-AM is trending 5.5 – 5.4 – 5.4 – 5.5 – 5.4, 6+. Co-owned CHR KMVQ "Now 99.7 New Hit Music" (sixth to fifth) is up or flat for the fourth successive sweep (3.0 – 3.0 – 3.5 – 3.8 – 3.8, 6+) for a combined +.8.  Owing to six consecutive monthlies without an increase (3.8 – 3.5 – 3.5 – 3.5 – 3.3 – 3.1 – 3.0, #12, 6+), Univision Radio Spanish adult hits KBRG (#11 to #12) is a combined -.8.
5) Dallas – Four-tenths of a share separates the top three finishers. A change at the top finds iHeartMedia CHR KHKS KHKS"Kiss-FM" (5.6 – 5.8, +.2, 6+) unseating CBS Radio classic hits-oldies KLUV (5.7 – 5.4, -.3, 6+), which slides from first to third. KLUV was on top in June and July; a -.6 in July ended three straight increases which resulted in a cumulative +1.0 (5.3 – 5.5 – 6.1 – 6.3, 6+). Not only does Cumulus Media's KPLX "The Wolf" extend its consecutiveKPLX string of monthlies without a decrease to six for a cumulative +1.4 (4.3 – 4.4 – 4.7 – 4.7 – 4.7 – 5.1 – 5.7, 6+), it does so with a gain of six-tenths and climbs from third to second. "The Wolf" trails "Kiss-FM" by just one-tenth. Stuck on 3.5 (6+) in March, April, and May, co-owned/similarly formatted KSCS "New Country 96.3" is now flat at 3.3 (6+), but drops from a three-way tie at #9 to #11. Steady at #9, CBS Radio's KRLD-FM "105.3 The Fan" registers its sixth straight gain for a combined +1.6 (1.8 – 2.0 – 2.2 – 2.5 – 2.9 – 3.3 – 3.4, 6+) and enjoys its best 6+-stat since November's 3.6. The market's two hot ACs each improve by two-tenths: iHeartMedia's KDMX "Now 102.9" is up or flat for the fourth straight time (3.7 – 3.7 – 3.8 – 3.8 – 4.0, 6+) and is unchanged at #6, while CBS Radio-owned KVIL regains the two-tenths it lost in July (3.1 – 2.9 – 3.1, #17 to #13, 6+).
6) Houston – Powered by a +.8 (3.7 – 4.5, 6+), iHeartMedia urban contemporary KQBT "93.7 The Beat" progresses from tenth KQBTto eighth, boasting its strongest 6+-share in more than two years (4.5, May 2014). Prior to July, Univision Radio Spanish adult hits KOVE "Mas Variedad 106.5" had been down or flat the previous five sweeps for a combined loss of one-half share (3.4 – 3.4 – 3.4 – 3.0 – 3.0 – 2.9, 6+). It rebounded with a one-half share gain and now replicates that (2.9 – 3.4 – 3.9, 6+) to enter the top ten (#13 to #10); 3.9KOVE matches its strongest 6+-performance since October 2014 (also 3.9, 6+). Mirroring the situation in Dallas (see above) on two levels, there is a new #1 in Houston and the difference between the market's first and second stations in August is just one-tenth. As for the specifics, after improving by one-half share in July, "Mas Variedad" regional Mexican cluster-mate KLTN adds another one-tenth, which is enough to dislodge iHeartMedia adult contemporary KODA "Sunny 99.1" from the penthouse. This is the fifth successive gain for KLTN yielding a combined increase of more than two full-shares (4.9 – 5.4 – 6.3 – 6.4 – 6.9 – 7.0, 6+). Without an increase for the fourth straight sweep (7.7 – 7.4 – 7.4 – 7.0 – 6.9, 6+), "Sunny" (first to second) had ranked #1 the past 23 ratings periods. It is the first time "Sunny" is below a seven-share (6+) since March 2015 (also 6.9, 6+). Off a combined six-tenths since April (5.8 – 5.5 – 5.2, 6+), Cox Media Group country KKBQ posted a +.7 in July to 5.9, its best 6+-showing in exactly one year (6.4, 6+, July 2015). "The New 93-Q," however, surrenders all of that gain (5.2 – 5.9 – 5.2, -.7, 6+) and remains at #5 for the third successive sweep. The fourth straight decrease by KSBJ "God Listens" drops the noncommercial contemporary Christian facility out of the top ten (#9 to #11). It is a combined -1.8 since April (5.6 – 5.1 – 4.8 – 4.4 – 3.8, 6+). Sputtering by one-half share (6.4 – 5.9, 6+), Radio One urban AC KMJQ "Majic 102.1" drops from a third-place tie to fourth.
7) Philadelphia – Seven-tenths is lucky for two of the market's talk outlets, as CBS Radio's WPHT "Talk Radio 1210" (2.8 – 3.5, WPHT Aug 2016#15 to #12, 6+) and public WHYY (steady at #17) each improve by seven-tenths. In the case of WHYY, the +.7 (to 2.6, 6+) ends six straight sweeps without an increase which resulted in the loss of approximately one-half of its 6+-share (3.7 – 3.4 – 3.4 – 3.0 – 2.6 – 2.1 – 1.9, 6+). It is the first time "Talk Radio 1210" has crossed the three-share threshold (6+) in more than four years (3.0, May 2012). In yet another case where the top two finishers are separated by one-tenth (see Dallas and Houston above), CBS Radio classic hits-oldies WOGLWHYY "Philadelphia's Greatest Hits" (7.2 – 6.9, -.3, 6+), which unseated Jerry Lee Radio adult contemporary WBEB "More FM" at #1 in July, retains the market's #1 bragging rights. "Philadelphia's Greatest Hits" advanced to #1 in July from the runner-up slot, where it resided the previous seven survey periods. Meanwhile, WBEB slips for the third successive sweep (7.8 – 7.4 – 6.9 – 6.8, 6+) for a combined loss of one full-share. Prior to July, "More FM" occupied the market's top spot for 12 consecutive survey periods. This is the weakest 6+performance for "More FM" since September's 6.8. After a combined +1.2 in June and July, iHeartMedia urban contemporary WUSL "Power 99" is steady at 4.9 and at #7  (3.7 – 4.2 – 4.9 – 4.9, 6+). It is the strongest 6+-performance for "Power 99" in approximately two years (5.2, 6+, August 2014). Down or flat for the seventh straight time resulting in a more than 50% loss of its 6+-share (3.1 – 3.1 – 2.8 – 2.8 – 2.7 – 2.3 – 1.8 – 1.5, 6+), Greater Media-owned WPEN-FM "The Fanatic" skids from #19 to #20. Rival WIP-FM is up one-tenth to 3.8 – the CBS Radio-owned Philadelphia Phillies flagship remains at #11. Once again down by two-tenths, Temple University classical outlet WRTI is without an increase for the seventh successive sweep (2.8 – 2.5 – 2.5 – 1.8 – 1.7 – 1.6 – 1.4 – 1.2, 6+) and is flat at #22.
8) Atlanta – Flaunting the loftiest (6+) July 2016 – August 2016 increase of any station in the 12 PPM-markets whose data was WSB-AMreleased Monday, Cox Media Group talker WSB-AM holds the top spot for the seventh straight month (8.1 – 9.4, +1.3, 6+). On top of that, 9.4 is the most potent 6+-share for WSB-AM in the PPM-era. In 2.1 – 2.5 range (6+) the past six sweeps, CBS Radio sports outlet WZGC "92.9 The Game" (#17 to #15) trots out a +.6 (2.4 – 3.0, 6+), reaching aWZGC three-share for the first time since January's 3.4 (6+). Improving by one-half share each are Cox Media Group classic hits-oldies WSRV "97.1 The River" (4.6, #11 to #8, 6+) and public WABE (2.5 – 3.0, #16 to #15, 6+). Preceding a +.5 in August, "The River" had been off the previous four sweeps (4.7 – 4.5 – 4.3 – 4.2 – 4.1, 6+). Faltering by eight-tenths each are iHeartMedia-owned WUBL "94.9 The Bull Atlanta's New Country Leader" (4.6 – 3.8, #7 to #12, 6+) and Radio One gospel WPZE "Praise 102.5 Atlanta's Inspiration Station" (4.2 – 3.4, #9 to #13, 6+). Following six straight up or flat trends yielding a +1.3 (3.6 – 3.7 – 3.7 – 4.0 – 4.0 – 4.2 – 4.9, 6+), "The Bull" regressed by three-tenths in July. Overtaking "The Bull" is Cumulus Media's similarly programmed WKHX "Kicks 101.5" (3.5 – 3.9, +.4, #13 to #11, 6+). Off by six-tenths (5.9 – 5.3, 6+), Salem Media Group contemporary Christian WFSH "104.7 The Fish" dips from a third-place tie to fourth. A -.2 in July ended four straight increases, which had netted "The Fish" three full-shares (3.1 – 3.4 – 4.3 – 5.4 – 6.1, 6+). The market's (6+) urban contemporary share sinks by eight-tenths, with CBS Radio's WVEE "V-103" (6.9 – 6.5, 6+) and Radio One's WHTA "Hot 107.9" (5.4 – 5.0, 6+) each regressing by four-tenths. "V-103" was +.4 in July, while "Hot" was +.6; they repeat at second and fifth, respectively.
9) Long Island – Up or flat for the sixth straight time for a cumulative +1.1 (1.5 – 1.5 – 1.5 – 1.5 – 1.6 – 1.9 – 2.6, 6+), CBS WWFSRadio hot AC WNEW "Fresh 102.7" (formerly WWFS) enters the top 20 via a three-way tie at #16. Included in that logjam is its format rival – Cumulus Media's WPLJ (3.2 – 2.6, -.6, 6+). Meanwhile, another hot AC – Connoisseur Media's WALK-FM (second to fourth) falters for the third consecutive sweep (5.8 – 5.2 – 4.8 – 4.6, 6+). Stuck on 3.5 (6+) in April, May, and June, iHeartMedia talkerWOR Logo WOR dropped to 3.3 in July but rebounds in August with a one-half share increase to 3.8 as the New York Mets flagship leaps from #12 to #8. While off by three-tenths to 6.4 (6+), co-owned CHR WHTZ "Z-100" is on top in Long Island for the seventh successive sweep. The loss of three-tenths though halts four straight sweeps where "Z-100" was up or flat (5.8 – 5.8 – 5.9 – 6.1 – 6.7, 6+). After three straight declines which produced a combined -.7 (3.7 – 3.5 – 3.1 – 3.0, 6+), Cox Media Group's similarly programmed WBLI (third to second) is now up for the fourth successive sweep (3.0 – 3.6 – 4.1 – 4.7 – 4.9, 6+). This is the 20th straight sweep that Emmis rhythmic CHR WQHT "Hot 97" (2.5 – 2.0, -.5, #19 to #22, 6+) is in 2.0 – 2.9 range (6+). In a similar and more pronounced vein, CBS Radio CHR WBMP "Amp" (#16 to #15) is in 2.0 – 2.9 territory (6+) for the 38th straight ratings period and is up or flat for the fifth straight time (2.2 – 2.2 – 2.4 – 2.5 – 2.6 – 2.8, 6+). Tied at #12 are Cox Media Group's WBAB "Long Island's Only Classic Rock" (3.7 – 3.4, -.3, #8 in July, 6+) and its iHeartMedia New York City format competitor WAXQ "Q-104" (3.1 – 3.4, +.3, #15 in July, 6+).
10) Riverside – Following a one-share increase, which pulled the plug on back-to-back downward trends that produced a combined KLYYloss of four-tenths, Entravision Spanish adult hits KLYY "Jose" fell by two-tenths in July but roars back with a +.8 and is #1 for the ninth consecutive ratings period. As the result of four straight up or flat trends (4.9 – 4.9 – 5.6 – 6.5 – 6.8, 6+), Anaheim Broadcasting classic hits-oldies KOLA (unchanged at #2) improves by nearly two full-shares. Prior to July, KOLA last crossed the six-share threshold (6+) thisKOLA past November (6.9). Having regressed by a combined -1.7 in six straight reports without an increase (4.9 – 4.8 – 4.8 – 4.2 – 3.9 – 3.5 – 3.2, 6+), CBS Radio country outlet KFRG "K-Frog" notches a +.2 to 3.4 (6+) and is steady at #6. Co-owned format partner KXFG has a .1 for the sixth straight time and it again finishes at #21. After four successive sweeps without an increase (1.9 – 1.8 – 1.8 – 1.5 – 1.4, 6+), Good News Radio contemporary Christian KSGN "Family Friendly" dials up a +.2 to 1.6 (6+) and advances from tenth to ninth. Unchanged at #5, Univision Radio Spanish contemporary KLVE "K-Love 107.5" registers a 3.9 (6+) for the third successive time. Although remaining at #14, Los Angeles Angels flagship KLAA is off by one-tenth to .7 (6+) and sees its string of seven straight monthlies without a decrease come to an end (.2 – .3 – .3 – .4 – .6 – .6 -.7 -.8, 6+); KLAA quadrupled its 6+-stat in that period. For the seventh successive sweep, Lazer Broadcasting regional Mexican KCAL-AM checks in with a .2 (#19).
11) San Jose – Making mega-jumps of +1.2 each are CBS Radio all-news operation KCBS-AM (4.4 – 5.6, 6+) and Cumulus KCBS-AMMedia talker KGO (2.9, #22 to #13); KGO was 1.7 (6+) in April, May, and July. KCBS-AM catapults from sixth to a first-place tie with Univision Radio Spanish adult hits KBRG "100.3 Mas Variedad," which is actually down four-tenths (6.0 – 5.6, 6+) but advances to first from the runner-up slot – where it has been theKGO Logo past four sweeps. Evicted from #1 following four straight months there is Cumulus Media's KNBR "The Sports Leader" (6.6 – 5.3, -1.3, 6+), which falls to #3. The -1.3 in August by San Francisco Giants flagship KNBR is the largest (6+) July 2016 – August 2016 erosion by any station in the 12 PPM-markets whose data was released Monday. After consecutive increases which yielded a combined +1.6 (5.9 – 6.5 – 7.5, 6+), KNBR slumped by six-tenths in May; was up one-tenth in June; and dropped four-tenths in July. Remaining in the spoken-word arena, Entercom-owned Oakland A's flagship KGMZ "95.7 The Game" coughs up six-tenths (1.1 – .5, 6+) and drifts to #26. The fourth consecutive up or flat trend by iHeartMedia urban contemporary KMEL (steady at #13) is a +.6 (1.9 – 2.1 – 2.1 – 2.3 – 2.9, 6+) as "The #1 for Hip-Hop & R&B" gains one full-share since April. Registering one-half share gains each are co-owned rhythmic CHR KYLD "WiLD 94.9" (3.9, tenth to eighth, 6+) and Cumulus Media triple A KFOG "The Bay Area's Original," which jumps into the top 20 (#23 to #18). "WiLD" was locked on 3.5 (6+) in April and May and then on 3.4 (6+) in June and July; KFOG was in 1.0 – 1.8 territory the past 16 sweeps. Following three successive up-trends that netted eight-tenths (4.6 – 4.9 – 5.2 – 5.4, 6+), Alpha Media hot AC KEZR "Mix 106.5" surrenders a -1.2 to 4.2 (6+), sliding from third to sixth. In four straight down or flat trends (2.4 – 1.9 – 1.2 – .3 – .3, 6+), Empire Broadcasting-owned news-turned-classic country property KLIV "1590 Country Gold" (#28 to #27) is a combined -2.1.
12) Middlesex – Aided by an increase of seven-tenths (3.9 – 4.6, 6+), Spanish Broadcasting System Spanish tropical WSKQ WSKQ"Mega 97.9" advances from eighth to sixth.
