SBS Los Angeles Boosts Carrillo to VP/GM. The promotion chris-carrilloof general sales manager Chris Carrillo to vice president and general manager means the ten-year Spanish Broadcasting System Los Angeles sales management executive will supervise all facets of the company's City of Angels cluster, which consists of regional Mexican KLAX "La Raza 97.9" and Spanish contemporary KXOL "Mega 96.3." According to SBS chief operating officer Albert Rodriguez, "Chris' radio experience andklax acumen are a matter of indisputable record. We are confident of his leadership abilities in taking our stations to the highest level of operational excellence. He knows radio; he knows the advertisers; he knows the company and its people; and he is intimately familiar with our kxolwest coast stations. No one is more qualified to take over the reins of SBS Los Angeles." SBS radio revenue chief officer & general manager of SBS New York Eric Garcia states, "Chris has consistently [been] a top performer in every role that he has served at SBS during his ten plus years and he has proven to be a tremendous leader. I am confident that Chris will take our Los Angeles operations to new heights." Before becoming SBS Los Angeles' general sales manager, Carrillo was its local sales manager and senior account executive. He previously was senior account executive at cross-town Clear Channel (now iHeart Media). Among persons 6+ in Los Angeles' latest (August 2016) Nielsen Audio PPM report, "La Raza" and "Mega" are tied at #20 – each with 2.2; it is the third successive increase for "Mega" (1.7 – 1.9 – 2.1 – 22. 6+). Univision Radio Spanish contemporary KLVE "K-Love 107.5" is #6 (4.0, 6+) and its regional Mexican sibling KSCA "Zona MX 101.9" is #10 (3.3, 6+); iHeartMedia adult contemporary KOST "Coast 103.5" is #1 (5.8, 6+).
