Tom Hoyt Takes Over Salem Louisville

Salem Media Group Louisville has announced the hiring of Tom Hoyt as general manager for the company's three-station cluster: WFIA-AM/FM and WGTK-AM. Hoyt comes to the position with management experience at Emmis, Entercom, Barnstable, and Cox. He replaces Tim Hartlage, who exited the role in mid-April, but will continue to work with Salem Louisville leading its local ministry efforts.

Salem VP Operations Mike Moran, commented: "We were looking for a general manager with a combination of strong leadership skills, management experience, and a proven sales orientation. I believe with Tom we found a man who delivers on all those fronts and brings the additional benefit of knowing and loving the city of Louisville."

Rogers Returns to Louisville on 100.5 MYfm

Longtime Louisville radio personality Vicki Rogers will join 100.5 MYfm for middays starting Monday, the 26th. Jonathan Shuford, Program Director, 100.5 MYfm notes, "Adding a wonderful, well-known personality like Vicki Rogers is an incredible asset. She's been a mainstay in the local media for nearly 15 years, and I can't wait for our listeners to hear her back on the air every day."

Summit Louisville Flips To Christmas Format

SummitMedia Louisville's Lite 106.9 (WVEZ) morning man Jeff Ramsey, accompanied by a roomful of Santas, made the official transformation into "Louisville?s Original Christmas Music Station.? The station will now play modern and classic Christmas and holiday-themed songs through Christmas night. Operations Manager Shane Collins said, "With the weather getting colder, it seemed the perfect time to pull the switch. We just couldn't wait to continue our 15-year tradition of being Louisville's Christmastime authority. We are the first in the neighborhood to put up our tree and we are proud of it!"

Leland Conway Joins WHAS Louisville

84WHAS, Kentuckiana?s NewsRadio 84, today announced that Leland Conway will join the station as midday host. Conway will host the 9 a.m. to noon shift and said, "It is an honor to join the 84WHAS team. As a native Kentuckian, I grew up with 84WHAS. It's as much a part of the Bluegrass State as hot browns and horse racing. I am excited to once again be a part of the lively conversation in Kentucky."

A graduate of Asbury University in Wilmore, Ky., Conway is already familiar to many for his past work on the play-by-play sports crews at Georgetown College and Eastern Kentucky University. In addition, he also previously served as a commentator on WTVQ TV and for six years hosted a successful talk show on NewsRadio 630 WLAP in Lexington. Conway most recently hosted a daily talk show on 1140 WRVA in Richmond, Va., where he will continue to be heard weekdays from 3-6:00 p.m. EST.

Shuford New PD For Clear Channel Louisville

Jonathan Shuford will take the reigns of WNRW-FM and WLGX-FM as of April 2nd. Shuford currently serves as Program Director/Brand Manager for Clear Channel?s Gen X Radio 106.1 in Tulsa. Louisville Operations Director Kelly Carls said, ?We conducted a nationwide search, and talked to many talented people. Jonathan stood out as a bright, energetic programmer with a lot of great ideas for expanding our local brands in both the terrestrial and digital realms. We?re very happy he?ll be joining our team in Louisville.?

Ramsey Brothers Return to Louisville Mornings

WVEZ-FM is owned by Cox and Operations Manager Shane Collins says "the new full-service, AM-drive program will be a fun, positive, upbeat show that caters to hip, family-oriented women." The brothers were first on the radio together on WRKA in the 1980s and started their careers together as touring stand-up comedians.

They last worked worked together in radio in 1997. Jeff Ramsey has been the host of Lite 106.9?s morning programming since 2008 and says that bringing his brother back into the studio with him is ?a dream come true.?
