WTOP is one of the properties that will move to Hubbard Broadcasting when that sale becomes complete, sometime in Q2 of this year. But for now, that station is still in the hands of Bonneville and the staff and the entire company are celebrating quite an accomplishment, outbilling, by far, every other radio station in the country. We caught up with Bonneville CEO Bruce Reese to get his take on how his company put together a team of managers, programmers and salespeople that generates $57 million with one great sounding signal. |

When you listen to WTOP, it's always moving. National and local news, traffic, sports, weather and commercials. Those commercials and other station revenue topped every radio station in America bringing in over $57 million. And, while there is no doubt all-news stations are more expensive to run, that is a huge revenue number. The next closest revenue generator was Clear Channel's KIIS- FM in L.A. |

Ten radio stations in four American cities accounted for nearly a half billion dollars in radio revenue according to BIA/Kelsey. The report detailed dollar amounts, formats and who owns those stations. No doubt about it, people love to listen to their news, talk and sports stations. |

While Radio has been patting itself on the back for about a week now following the release of Arbitron numbers touting big listener numbers, those numbers do not really translate back to more advertising revenue in Radio's pocket. At the end of the day, advertisers go for the glitz and glamour of television over the theatre of the mind medium. |

Syndicated talker Dave Ramsey, presented his common-sense debt reduction and wealth-building strategies to a Sold Out crowd of more than 7,000 people at a Total Money Makeover Live event in Colorado Springs. While Ramsey was in Colorado, he also presented a special event at Fort Carson for military personnel on the base. The event was hosted by affiliate KRDO. |

Debut Broadcasting says its Q4 revenue rose by 15% and a $400,000 rise in net profit over 2009. "In our fourth quarter alone, we produced a net profit of $65,240, an increase of over $300,000 compared to the fourth quarter of 2009" the company said in a statement. |

Kidd Kraddick renews his contract with KHKS/Dallas (106.1 KISS-FM). The company also announced that they would be carrying Kraddick's new pop culture countdown show, The Hollywood 5, widely throughout the company. The weekend show is heard on several stations across the country. The four-hour weekend show is hosted by Kraddick, celebrity gossip reporter Jonathon Hyla and Chelsea Lately. Each weekend the show discusses five big stories from Hollywood. |

The Alliance for Women in Media has announced its 2011 National Board of Directors. Valerie K. Blackburn, Market Controller at CBS Radio in Los Angeles, CA, will serve as the National Chair. Blackburn says the Alliance for Women in Media has an ambitious agenda. |
