Rush Spends 20 Minutes Blasting FCC and Premiere Radio's "On Call" Service

Rush Spends 20 Minutes Blasting FCC and Premiere Radio's "On Call" Service

Rush Limbaugh spent a good part of his first half hour Monday discussing Premiere's "On Call" service, making sure everyone knew that nothing about his show was staged. Premiere's On Call service has been described as callers calling in to shows pretending to be real helping to enhance bits of the on-air talent. Rush discussed how the FCC pretty much ruined the caller bit when it required radio stations to notify callers they were being recorded immediately before rolling tape. Rush described a bit he did at a department store in his early years on the Radio that you could never get away with now because everyone, from the start, would be in on the joke.

FRESH CONTENT FRIDAY: Ask The Attorney.

This Friday we start a new feature called "Ask The Attorney". If you've ever had a legal question about your radio station, involving your station or about the FCC now is your chance to have it answered by a professional. Communications Law attorney John Garziglia joins us this and every Friday to answer your questions. Our first scenario.... I'm a GM and I just walked in to the studio and realized my morning man  recorded a listener and played it back on the air. He did not tell the caller he was recording and there was no contest running. The caller is not complaining. In fact nobody is. However, I am the GM and I saw it all happen. What do I do? John answers that question on Friday.
