Last week a Media Matters writer tried to get the ball rolling on a story about the Glenn Beck affiliate count. He was attempting to craft the thought that Beck had fallen below the 400 affiliate number. Radio Ink looked into the matter, worked with Premiere and Beck's people, Friday and determined Media Matters did not have the facts and that Beck is still going strong. In fact, despite being dropped by Buckley Broadcasting, Beck still has over 430 affiliates having added over 80 in the past year. Eric penned an editorial about the controversy and here it is. |

Former WRKO Programmer Harry Nelson Facing Health & Financial IssuesNelson is one of radio's great programmers including stops at the legendary WRKO Boston and KFRC in San Francisco in the 60s and 70s. According to Guy Zapoleon, a few weeks ago Nelson was diagnosed with a rare lung disease. He spent two weeks in the ICU. Although he's made some progress, he will continue his hospital stay for an unspecified amount of time. |

KUAR is a public radio station in central Arkansas. They were back on the air last night under limited power. The station was asking listeners to let them know via Facebook and their website just how far the signal was reaching. General Manager Ben Fry told Radio Ink last night it's hard to say when the station will be back on the air at full power. "We need an expert to look at the transmitter and determine whether it can be repaired. We'll also be dealing with the insurance company on equipment replacement. We'll know better by the end of the week." |

They call the city "Freakville" and they are very excited to be back. Lex & Terry have been gone from Jacksonville for seven months since Clear Channel blew up Planet 107, even though, they say, they were doing great in the ratings at the time. The morning team who have been together for 17 years now will be heard on sports station 1010XL weekday mornings 6-10. We caught up with Lex and Terry last night for a few words before a full week of broadcasting back into the sunshine state. |

Clear Channel Seattle welcomed the Bob Rivers Show back to the Seattle area on KJR Oldies 95.7 FM. Rivers is joined by his popular on-air team of Spike O'Neill and Downtown Joe Bryant and Seattle radio veteran Jodi Brothers, a new addition to the Bob Rivers Show. The show can be heard on the Internet at www.oldiesseattle.com and at www.iheartradio.com, as well as via the iheartradio mobile application on iPods, Blackberry, Droid and other smartphones. |

Chaz and AJ, the Cox owned WPLR morning show in Connecticut, is adding a new member and welcoming back an old friend. Ed Oliveira joins the show as executive producer and sports. Oliveira was the producer of the Jay Severin show for Greater Media. As you know, there are now issues with Severin having been suspended. He also does morning show stints at Phoenix Media's WFNX in Boston and CMG's own radio cluster in Richmond, Va. |

Clark spent 51 years in radio. He passed away Friday after battling heart disease for quite a long time. The heart issue forced him into retirement as his health continued to fail. Clark also spent nearly 20 years as the public address announcer for Gonzaga University men's and women's basketball games. |

Dickey Broadcasting's (WCNN-AM) Sports Radio 680 The Fan (now on FM at 93.7) announces the signing of a multi-year contract with the University of Georgia Athletic Association and Georgia Sports Properties/IMG College. The multi-year contract will include Bulldog focused primetime programming, to begin on or before July 1, 2011, press conferences and comprehensive coverage of the Georgia Bulldogs and UGA's various sports programs. |
