Clear Channel Birmingham Ops Manager Describes Tornado Coverage

Clear Channel Birmingham Ops Manager Describes Tornado Coverage

At about 5:45PM Wednesday a massive tornado was only 10 minutes from downtown Birmingham. The Clear Channel staff headed for the basement leaving its tornado coverage intact and on. They were monitoring coverage from the basement because they operate in a 9 story glass building. Safety first. Obviously. The tornado hit downtown Birmingham about a mile and half from the studios. 20 minutes later the building got the all clear and the radio staff was back to work and the full-blown coverage was on.
