The P.R. Battle Over the Beck Affiliate Number.

There's no doubt the pressure is on Premiere Radio talker Glenn Beck. There have been rumors circulating that when his contract expires with Fox he may not be back. And, Media Matters has really stepped up its effort to bring Beck down. The latest flare-up involves the true number of affiliates the Beck program has after Buckley Broadcasting dropped the show at four of its Connecticut stations. The original reason given was "to go local" by the company. But just a few days later Rick Buckley was quoted criticizing the angle of Beck's content.

Arbitron says the Media Rating Council has accredited the monthly average-quarter-hour radio ratings data produced by the Portable People Meter in 11 additional markets: Atlanta; Cincinnati; Cleveland; Kansas City; Milwaukee-Racine; Philadelphia; Phoenix; Portland, OR; Salt Lake City-Ogden-Provo; St. Louis and Tampa-St. Petersburg-Clearwater.

SBS Revenue Declines 5% in Q4. Down 3% For 2010.

It was a tough quarter and tough 2010 for the largest publicly traded Hispanic-controlled media and entertainment company in the United States. SBS Chairman and CEO Raul Alarcon, Jr says "we experienced volatile advertising conditions in many of our markets during 2010, even as we continued to drive strong audience shares across our multi-media platform."

Greater Media Sidelines Jay Severin Again

Severin, hosts a show on Greater Media's WTKK in Boston. He has been off the air since Tuesday and Greater Media tells Radio Ink "Jay was suspended after we received serious complaints about the recent content of his show. The matter is currently under review". Severin was also suspended back in 2009 for making derogatory remarks toward Mexican immigrants.

Clear Channel Names JB Wilde PD in Atlanta

Wilde will program the rhythmic CHR simulcaster WWVA-FM/WWLG-FM. He starts April 11th. Wilde is currently Clear Channel's Program Director for CHR WMKS-FM and Rock WVBZ-FM in Greensboro, NC. In his new role, Wilde will manage day-to-day operations of WWVA-FM and report to Operations Manager Dan Persigehl.

Phillies Team With WOGL For First Ever HD Radio Multicast.

The Philadelphia Phillies and CBS RADIO's WOGL are teaming up to launch the "Phillies 24/7", the first ever HD Radio multicast station exclusively dedicated to a Major League Baseball team. Phillies 24/7 will air continuously throughout the year and feature live play-by-play of every regular season Phillies game on-air at 98.1 WOGL HD4, plus game re-broadcasts the following morning at 9am. The channel will launch today when the Phillies take on the Houston Astros in their home opener (1:05pm).

The Stu Olds Memorial Fund, established to commemorate the former Katz Media Group Chief Executive Officer who passed away last December, has raised more than $450,000 to benefit the mission of the Broadcasters Foundation of America. "Broadcasters who knew and worked with Stu wanted a way to pay tribute" noted Jim Thompson, President of the Broadcasters Foundation.
