The town of Mapleton in Iowa was recently hit hard by a tornado and several radio stations are getting together to help the community get back on its feet. A sort of mass radio-a-thon will be held today by KCVM-FM and The Fan (Cedar Rapids) and KMCH-FM (Manchester). The stations will ask their listeners to donate money for the community during the radio-a-thon. |

David Hinckley of the New York Daily News is reporting McCord could retire within a month. McCord has been the news voice of the Imus in the Morning Program now for decades. He's been with Imus through his very public firings after starting a career in radio back in Springfield, MO in 1963. Hinckley is reporting that McCord could be replaced by someone at the Fox Business network where the program also airs in addition to WABC in New York and several other stations across the country. |

There was no formal announcement from either side but it appears the rift between Mancow and Emmis is over. Well, it may have been more than a rift. Emmis and Mancow parted ways back in 2007 and Mancow accused the company of road blocking his attempts to get a new gig in Chicago. The suit was for $6 Million, which, at the time, Emmis called frivolous. |
