In exchange for a plea, Judge Michael Barrasse shaved six years off the minimum sentence and 14 years off the maximum, resulting in a sentence of eight to 16 years, not 14 to 30 years for Doug Lane. Lane is the former owner of 3 radio stations in Scranton, WWDL-FM, WICK-AM and WYCK-AM.
Lane was charged with molesting several teenage boys after befriending them, offering them jobs working at his radio stations. He also gave them alcohol. In a deal worked out with prosecutors, Lane entered guilty pleas, dropping the claim of innocence he had at the trial that resulted in his conviction on two counts of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse and six counts of possession of child pornography.
