Bill Koenigsberg and Andrew Essex represent many of the top 100 advertisers in the United States. Both will speak at the advertiser luncheon on September 19th. Koenigsberg is the President, CEO and founder of Horizon Media and Andrew Essex is the CEO of Droga5. The two men will discuss the expanding array of media options for advertisers and Radio?s role in enabling marketers to connect with consumers. The Radio Wayne awards will also be presented at the luncheon by Radio Ink Publisher Eric Rhoads.
Koenigsberg founded Horizon Media in 1989 and grew it into the world?s largest independent media agency. The agency currently has $3.8 billion in billings representing clients, including GEICO, Capital One, United Airlines, A&E Networks, Kraft Foods and Weight Watchers. Under Koenigsberg?s leadership, Horizon was named the 2011 Independent Media Agency of the Year by MediaPost magazine and in 2010 Media Agency of the Year by both Ad Age and Adweek/Mediaweek/Brandweek. He is currently chairman of the Media Policy Board and director-at-large of the 4A?s Board of Directors and also serves on the Board of the International Radio and Television Society.
Essex is the CEO of Droga5, a creative and strategic agency whose diverse clients include PUMA, Kraft Foods, Coca-Cola, Prudential, Hennessy, Amstel Light, Newcastle Brown Ale, Qantas and The New Museum of Contemporary Art. The agency is known for innovative social initiatives including UNICEF?s Tap Project, The Great Schlep for the Obama campaign and The Million Project for the New York City Department of Education. Droga5 has been twice named Ad Age?s Agency of the Year. Before co-founding Droga5 in 2006, Essex, an award-winning journalist, was the founding editor-in-chief of Absolute magazine.
