Scott Hanley starts in his new post as GM at the University of Alabama's noncomm WBHM at the end of the month. Hanley, a former member of the NPR board, arrives from the post of executive director at the Greater Uniontown Heritage Consortium; before that, he spent 16 years as GM of Duquesne University's WDUQ-FM/Pittsburgh.
UAB Asst. VP/Public Relations & Marketing Kristi Lamont Ellis said, "We are delighted to be welcoming Scott Hanley to his new home in Birmingham and at WBHM. We were fortunate to have a strong candidate pool and attract someone who is both a consummate broadcast journalism professional and strong civic leader; it speaks well of the station?s national reputation on the news front."
Ellis has been serving as WBHM's interim GM since October 2011.
