In recognition of his contributions as an artist and humanitarian, Jose Feliciano will be presented with the Medallas de Cortez Distinguished Leadership Award, following a keynote address he will make at Radio Ink's Hispanic Radio Conference, being held March 10 at the Hyatt Regency Mission Bay in San Diego. The Medallas de Cortez Awards are sponsored by Sun Broadcast Group.
Throughout his five decades in the business, Feliciano has earned nine Grammys, including the Latin Grammy Award Lifetime Achievement Award, and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and he's sold over 70 million records. Beyond musical talent, however, this dedicated and devout family man has earned a reputation as a great humanitarian and "Ambassador of Goodwill" throughout the world. He has said, "I'll never forget where I came from or the people who helped my family or me along the way." For this reason, he will often lend a hand or his name in support of causes he believes are important.
Jose Feliciano will share his reflections on those past 50 years with Hispanic Radio Conference attendees, and on how Hispanic culture, from music to culinary tastes, has changed the face of this country -- and its sound. He'll also talk about the role radio has played in his career and what that relationship means to him, as well as some of the causes that are near and dear to his heart.
Feliciano is a true music-industry legend, and this is a rare opportunity to hear him speak from his heart about his life and music. Don't miss it; register for the Hispanic Radio Conference today.
