Entercom's WRKO in Boston says it has exercised the option on Howie Carr?s contract, keeping the longtime radio host on WRKO for the foreseeable future. Carr, who anchors weekdays 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., has been with WRKO since 1994. Market Manager Jeff Brown said, ?Howie Carr has been a lynchpin for WRKO for years and we are thrilled he will continue to be part of the best talk radio in Boston."

Reached for comment, Carr said, “I’m very disappointed. I was hoping I’d get parole. But there’s only two years left on my bit and I now know the exact day I’m leaving. I can do this standing on my head.”
