Huppe took a swipe at Cumulus during his Monday keynote in New York stating not even the launch of NASH-FM, in radio's number one market, was helping music sales. Without providing any specifics Huppe said, "Cumulus' NASH-FM in New York City has produced no increase on country music sales. The response from Cumulus was that Huppe simply had his facts wrong. "A Cumulus source we contact Monday afternoon said proprietary data from music companies and Nielsen show that in 2013, the Tri-State Metropolitan Country single-track sales were up even while they declined nationally - a direct result of Nash's launch in New York."
