Three Cheers For Tom Kay

7-17-13

It's Conclave week in Minneapolis and there were much deserved accolades handed out to Tom Kay, the long-time executive director of the organization. In this photo, taken at the Doubletree Park Place Hotel, Benztown's Chachi Denes and Masa Patterson, and The Conclave's new executive director, Bob Shannon, flank a giant thank you card signed by attendees. Kay retired from his post after 36 years of service to the Conclave.

Kay first served the Conclave as a member of the organization's first Advisory Board in 1976, when he was PD of WJON/St. Cloud, MN. In 1979, he became Conclave coordinator. In 1985, the Conclave became a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, and its Board of Directors named Tom as executive director, a post he held for 28 years.
