cookehollandNAB Show Day 3.  Radio consultant Holland Cooke reports for RadioInfo from Las Vegas and the huge 2016 NAB Show.  In today's column, Cooke reviews the Q&A with FCC Chairman Tom Wheeler.  Often accused of being less sensitive to radio's needs and more concerned with regulating the Internet, Wheeler told the NAB Show attendees that he's a big fan of radio (NPR is his first choice).  He says when asked by interviewer (former NAB TV Board Chair) Marci Burdick about the state of AM/FM in these changing technological times, "The question is whether those managing technology will change with it."   But he says the FCC has worked quickly to process FM translator applications.  "Since we opened the window, we have processed over 500 'new stations.'"  Read the entire report here.
