Former WCCO Minneapolis host Brad Walton has died at the age of 60. Walton spent about 11 years at WCCO as a weekend overnight and fill-in host. Walton also worked at KTIS and KEEY and KSTP-FM before moving over to WCCO in 1997 where he worked until 2008. Walton is survived by his wife of 38 years, Marlene; children Sharalee and David and his mother, Marlene. The memorial service will be at 7:30 p.m. tonight at North Heights Lutheran Church in Roseville.
In 2004, Walton wrote a book called, ?How Does the Heart Know Love,? a personal story about his transformation following open-heart surgery. One of Walton?s favorite memories of WCCO was following the 35W bridge collapse. Walton spent hours in the newsroom doing debriefs with media all over the world, including Anderson Cooper on CNN, MSNBC and the BBC in London and Australia.
