Hawaii Anyone?

Cox Media Group says Hawaii General Manager Mike Kelly will be retiring from the company after 26 years. Kelly, not surprisingly, has been with Cox at the Hawaii cluster for his entire 26 year run. He said, "We have great people at CMG Hawaii, and they're like family to me. I'll continue to be here for them through the transition and beyond to help them however I can." Kelly's retirement is effective at the end of the year, but he will remain in a consulting capacity into 2012.

CMG Group Vice President Jay O?Connor said ?It's rare these days in broadcasting to find an individual who has been committed to and served a location for 26 consecutive years. Over that time Mike has led our group through tremendous industry change, including the influx of FM signals in the 80s, local marketing agreements (LMA), Duopoly, consolidation in the 90s and early 2000s, and the great recession of the last few years. Through it all, Kelly has hired and mentored great people and has served as a manager, a coach, a leader and a friend to each one as well as to the Hawaii community overall.

O?Connor has begun the search for Kelly?s successor, who will be named in the coming months.  CMG Hawaii operates KRTR Krater 96.1 FM, KPHW Power 104.3 FM, KCCN 100.3 FM, KINE Hawaiian 105.1 FM, KRTR 650 AM, and KKNE 940 AM.
