According to a report in AdWeek, ESPN is teaming with Horizon Media and RealVu for the campaign. RealVu says it is able to gauge how many ads in a particular campaign are viewable, or ads actually appearing on a user's screen long enough to be seen. Right now web ads are requested from a server and recorded when a user has simply visited a page. The IAB and others have been pushing the industry to move toward viewable impressions as a standard. Look for ESPN.com to test several campaigns.
