Entercom has closed on its purchase of translator W284AP/Buffalo from Family Life Radio for $125,000. It will use this translator to add a second frequency for its station known as Alternative Buffalo. Currently heard on WLKK 107.7, the station will also now be heard on WTSS-HD2, which will simulcast on the newly-purchased translator at 104.7. With the new branding of Alternative Buffalo 107.7 and 104.7, the station will be able to be heard clearer in the northwestern portion of Erie County, thanks to the translator signal.
Program Director Nik Rivers says "In just a year and a half, Alternative Buffalo has introduced over 60,000 Western New Yorkers to the unique sound of today's alternative music and taken a big role in celebrating the renewed optimism of Buffalo and Western New York. If there was one thing that was missing, it was that more people wanted a better signal in the northern part of Erie County and in the University district downtown. 104.7 FM will help with that."
