The video platform and mobile app VuHaus launched on Wednesday. VuHaus works with music-intensive public radio stations to build a video service so audiences can view artist interviews, in-studio performances, and live concerts, all curated on one app and website. Among the public radio stations that have partnered with VuHaus include WFUV/New York, KCRW/Los Angeles, WXPN/Philadelphia, KEXP/Seattle, KUTX/Austin, and KTBG/Kansas City. VuHaus received initial support from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting.
To celebrate its launch, VuHaus will stream three days of live performances from the Non-COMMvention, the national gathering of contemporary non-commercial radio stations and the music industry, beginning Wednesday.
VuHaus Program Director Mark Abuzzahab, former program director of KKXT/Dallas, said: "VuHaus' member radio stations have established a stunning track record for being crossover-hit makers and a launching pad for new artists. Artists have made their studios the first stop when they are on tour or want to debut new music, and the result is the type of mesmerizing performances you'd never experience at a concert hall, music festival or on TV."
