There are a lot of complicated ways to look at your social media, but this week we want to keep things simple and see if we can do a quick review of your current social media and those that you feel are on the leading edge (or stations and/or companies you admire).
Let's go take a look:
1. Pick five radio stations you admire. Go check out their Facebook page and all of their social media. Compare what they are doing and see what you value and how you might be able to use what you learn to improve your social media.
2. Pick five companies you admire. Go check out their Facebook page and all of their social media. Compare what they are doing and see if you can find the value in what they are doing that could relate well to your goals. If so, adopt the best of what you learn.
3. Review your content strategy and make sure it is aligned well with your goals and the people you most want to attract, validate, and nurture as passionate listeners of your over-the-air and online brand.
Sometimes there is value in pausing and reviewing content strategy and what others are doing. While I am not always for looking at what others are doing, it has value in this type of exercise once a year.
If you do this kind of review no more than once a year, or every other year, you are likely to find significant value from the perspective of making your social media more productive and connective to the right listeners to help you increase your "win."
