Broadcast TV is expected to get 50% of the total $11.4 Billion in 2016 political advertising, according to the latest report released by Borrell & Associates. That $11.4 Billion is an increase of 20% when compared to the Presidential election of 2012. When you add in what's being spent in 2015 that number jumps to $16.5 Billion. Half of the money will be spent on national candidates and half will be spent on local candidates, local issues, governors, state legislative districts, ballot issues, and regional and city governments.
