There's expected to be a record amount of political ad spending leading up to the 2016 Presidential election and the radio industry would like to be able to pull in more than just a few scraps. The Katz Radio Group has signed an agreement to license Nielsen's Voter Ratings service for all 48 PPM markets, hoping new data will help drive more political revenue to radio. Nielsen says its voter ratings service can provide Katz with a deeper understanding of how radio reaches voters with specific political views while strengthening its commercial inventory to political campaigns.
