The layoff announcement came down from ESPN President John Skipper (pictured) who said beginning Wednesday ESPN would be enacting organizational changes, "a process that will include the elimination of a number of positions, impacting friends and colleagues across the organization." A total number of layoffs was not announced. Most media outlets are pegging the number at 300 (out of 8,000). Those being let go will get 60-days notice, a severance package reflective of their years of service, and outplacement benefits to help them find future employment.
