Arbitron Adds Hudson Valley

June 14, 2011

The new market in New York will include 4 counties; Westchester, Rockland, Putnam and Orange. The population is estimated at 1.5 million. The Newburgh-Middletown market will go away and be rolled into the new Hudson Valley market. Arbitron does not officially update market numbers until September but they are estimating the number for Hudson Valley at 38. Arbitron will measure the new Hudson Valley radio market twice each year, using diaries, beginning with the Fall 2011 survey, which is scheduled from September 15 through December 7, 2011. Results from the Fall 2011 quarterly survey are slated to be available in January 2012. Newburgh-Middletown was ranked 137.
