Cumulus Gives Geraldo WABC Slot

12-11-2011

It was circulating in the rumor mill and the announcement is coming tomorrow from Cumulus. Geraldo Rivera will take the 10 to noon slot that was vacated by Joe Crummy last week when Crummy bailed from the station. Geraldo is added to a lineup that already includes Rush, Hannity and Mark Levin. Rivera is also a weekend anchor and a correspondent on Fox.

Cumulus co-Chief Operating Officer John Dickey said , "When we acquired 77 WABC as part of taking over the Citadel group of stations this fall we knew that adding a compelling and unique voice to the world of talk radio would be a top priority, and we're quite excited to have the biggest and boldest name in opinion journalism now part of the Cumulus family."

"This is a lifetime dream come true, hosting a talk radio show in the city where everyone has an opinion on everything," Rivera said. "I want this show to provide a marketplace for the unpredictable, and also add some much-needed balance on talk radio during this heated election cycle. My slogan is, 'I?m Geraldo and I?m not always right.'?
