The changes continue at Clear Channel. Just a few days after changing its name from Clear Channel Radio to Clear Channel Media and Entertainment CEO Bob Pittman has brought in former Infinity Broadcasting CEO John Sykes. Sykes is now the President of Clear Channel Entertainment Enterprises, a newly created position. He reports directly to Pittman as does Steven Cutler who was hired December 20th as Senior Vice President of Business Development and Coporate Strategy. Both Sykes and Cutler have experience working with Pittman. These changes on top of the late 2011 changes where the company cut out many middle and lower paying jobs at stations around the country and a highly successful iHeartradio Music Festival in Las Vegas that may become an annual event. We caught up with Sykes for an interview yesterday while he was in London.

Sykes told us he'll be working closely with John Hogan, Tom Poleman and Michelle Laven to use Clear Channel's leverage to create powerful events, to create new business models that can be monetized. He says what attracted him to Clear Channel was the change to Clear Channel Media. "Landscaping is more competitive, radio needs to harness its power to compete in the marketplace." We also asked him what his first Clear Channel project would be, the changes the company has made at local stations and how radio has changed since his days with Infinity Broadcasting.

Here is our complete interview with John Sykes.
