"Rock Stations Getting Killed All Over The Country"

That's a quote from former WRXW-FM Program Director Brad Stevens. Stevens was working at the station until Backyard Broadcasting sold it, along with WWJK-FM to the Educational Media Foundation. Both Jackson, Mississippi dial positions are flipping to Christian. Stevens is taking the format to the Internet, working from a studio in his home.

Stevens told the Clarionledger.com that this is an opportunity to keep Rock 93.9 alive. "I bought the intellectual property rights to the format. The Internet domain (http://www.rock939.com/) is mine. I want Jackson to have a rock station. People think rock is dying, but it's not." Stevens is now looking for advertisers.
