Talk radio veteran Doc Thompson is joining WXYT-AM to take over the 3 to 6 slot. Thompson replaces Todd Schnitt who moves to evenings. Thompson was most recently the midday host on WLW-AM in Cincinnati, Ohio, and the afternoon host on WRVA in Richmond, Virginia, and a guest host on the Glenn Beck Program, a position he will continue to hold.
CBS Senior Vice-President and Market Manager for Detroit Debbie Kenyon said, ?This is a critical election year, and we?re thrilled to add a big talent like Doc Thompson to our lineup to talk about it. People can now drive to work with Charlie Langton and drive home with Doc for the most informative and interesting takes on the issues affecting metro Detroit. He?s an amazing addition to a strong lineup.?
"Detroit has history of great radio and I'm very excited to be part of it,? said Thompson, who grew up east of Cleveland and clearly remembers his mom listening to Detroit radio in the car. "We are living in stressful times and the news can be pretty depressing. I offer a unique and compelling viewpoint with lots of humor and fun."
