Clear Channel Restructures Sales Departments

4-16-14

Here's the official statement from Clear Channel on a company-wide reduction in salespeople. "As a policy, we don't discuss personnel matters. However, for the last several months we have been flattening our senior management organization to reduce overlap. Now we are aligning our sales organizations to this new structure and to give more resources, authority, and accountability to the most productive members of our team so we can operate as effectively and efficiently as possible. Change is not always easy, and unfortunately in the process some people were negatively impacted. We thank them for their commitment and service and wish them the best for the future, and will work with them to help make this transition as easy as possible."

GREED should be a radio station.. They want to cut those making lots of money, and give their accounts to a newby or someone who isn't making quota.. Seasoned radio talent are all over the market.. Sadly, CC will make their nut.. but nobody else will. Sorry to those that get restructured out the door

This quote from an article about Southwest Airlines says it best: Southwest Airlines is one of the most successful airlines in the United States. There have never been layoffs or strikes in the history of the company. Southwest's Mission statement says “Above all, Employees will be provided the same concern, respect, and caring attitude within the organization that they are expected to share externally with every Southwest Customer.” Why not Clear Channel?
