Last week during his earnings call, Cumulus CEO Lew Dickey called out iHeartMedia regarding national business. Dickey believes there's a "systemic" problem with national and iHeartMedia is part of the proble. "There are fewer dollars left for the rest of the industry before iHeart is filled." Those comments didn't really go over well at radio's biggest company. iHeartMedia spokesperson Wendy Goldberg responded to Dickey's comments. "iHeartMedia has made well over a hundred million dollars in new expenses as investments in the future to improve our revenue and better compete for local, national and digital ad dollars against other media sectors beyond radio -- and we were patient for the results in the long revenue development time period. We are now beginning to see some of the results from those investments. It's unfortunate that anyone would deliberately ignore those facts to justify their performance."
