Sirius XM Makes A Profit

Sirius XM Radio reports pro forma net revenue of $670.6 million in the first quarter of the year, up 11 percent from $605.5 million in Q1 2009. The satcaster's net income came in at $41.6 million, or 1 cent per share, compared to a net loss of $238.8 million (7 cents) a year ago.

Senator Recommends Radio, TV Marti Be Closed

Sen. Russ Feingold (D-WI) is recommending that the Cuba-directed Radio Marti and TV Marti broadcasts be shut down, after a committee staff report said they have "failed to make any discernible inroads into Cuban society or to influence the Cuban government." The broadcasts are on a list of proposed cuts in Feingold's Control Spending Now Act.
